Project Overview
The Radisson Collection hotel is located on Al Marjan Island in Ras al-Khaimah. It has a total of 433 keys with a total BUA of 41,000 m². The hotel will also include banqueting facilities, F&B outlets, Rooftop Speciality Restaurant/Bar and a Pool Bar.
Challenges
The major part of the roof was occupied by an infinity-edge swimming pool which was extending into the services floor below. Increase the efficiency of the HVAC system.
Solution
For the hot water system Thermodynamic Solar panel was proposed, this system works on the principle of a reverse refrigeration cycle while the hot water is being produced inside the plant room; cold refrigerant is heated up inside black panels which are kept outdoors. These panels were strategically placed near air-cool chiller condensers such that this suction air passing over the chiller condenser would first pass over the black panel, the hot air will exchange its heat with cold black panels, and its temperature is reduced. This cold air passes over the chiller condenser increasing the efficiency of the air-cooled chiller.
