Project Overview
The project is the development of Liwan Trading and Construction Limited to design a mix-use project located on King Abdullah Road in Riyadh with all amenities and services needed to cater to the contemporary and progressive lifestyle of potential Saudi residents and active retailers. The project will be developed over a total land area of 45,704 sqm located on King Abdullah Road, Riyadh, KSA.
Challenges
To achieve higher construction speed with modern construction technologies serving the traditional architectural MEP design approach of the services running the above floor levels with sunken slabs for the wet areas around the corridor.
Solution
A PT slab system with the sunken area at the midspan of the building was provided to run the MEP service above the slab levels. The column framing along with extent of sunk has been provided in such a manner to have the optimized slab thicknesses for achieving maximum floor heights.
